Welcome to the DooDah Road Club - "We
Stop for Hops!"
You don't have to be a member to ride with us, but
there are some benefits to joining our little group. If you would like to
join the club, go here:

Rules,
Bylaws if you will, of the DooDahs
We don't have many, but
- First and foremost,
you MUST wear a helmet. Don't even think about riding without
one. We won't let you play; I will verbally abuse you and send you
home.
- Make sure you are in
the proper physical condition to do the rides. If you are not
sure, check with your doctor before coming out.
- Make sure your bike is
in proper working condition. Your ride leaders are not mechanics, and
not there to fix your bike. Yes, we can fix most anything if
necessary, but don't come with a broken bike and expect us to fix it before
the ride. Exceptions made if you call us and ask if we can fix
something before we take off.
- If you are under the
age of 16, you must have a parent accompany you. We are not a
baby-sitting service so please do not just drop off your kids and presume
the ride leaders will take care of them.
- Leave the IPod at
home. You need to hear what is going on around you and you can't do
that with Uriah Heap banging through the buds.
- By showing up for a
DDRC scheduled ride, you agree to Disclaimer and accept full responsibility
for yourself and any injury, either mental or physical, and for any damage
to your equipment.
- If the temperatures
are cold, sub 35 degrees, or raining 60 minutes before ride time, any official DDRC
ride is considered cancelled. The Head Doo will be at the start, and
others may be there ready to ride, but "officially" the ride is cancelled.
Ride Leaders discretion to cancel for any particular reason he wants
including but not limited to NCAA basketball games.
- If it is raining,
snowing or the weather is just crappy, consider the official ride cancelled.
This applies more to the Beginner Rides. Newbies don't need to deal
with bad weather or road conditions to start with.
- If you take off on
your own, or otherwise leave the ride leader group, you are on your own.
The Club will not be responsible for you.
- We will not knowingly
leave any group rider behind, provided you are up to the ride and following
the other rules. If you
are a beginner cyclist, do not show up for a 35 miler that has specifically
stated it is not for beginner's. If you are uncertain of your ability
to do the ride, contact the Head Doo:
headdoo@doodahroadclub.org
- Bring some food with
you . On even the shortest of rides, you can get hungry. Stick
some cash in a pocket as well just in case.
- WATER, WATER.
Remember, this is the desert, it gets hot. Bring plenty of water,
at least 2 large water bottles. Don't forget to drink it.
- Bring some sort of ID
with you, just in case something happens.
- No DDRC ride leader
will carry or administer any medications, including ibuprofen or Tylenol.
You need them, you pack them. At least one cell phone will be with a
ride leader.
- We are not doctors and don't play one
on TV and we didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express, so in case of
emergency/accident, our medical expertise is limited to stopping the
bleeding, making sure you are breathing and dialing 911.
- Bring a tire pump ,
an extra tube that fits your bike, a set of tire irons and any other
tools you need to change a flat. Don't
worry if you are not sure how to use them. We will help you when
the time comes. If you don't have what it takes to change the
flat, we will use our cell phone to call someone to come pick you up, or you
have a long walk ahead of you.
- We do not ride in
"packs". Two abreast only, or single file when traffic and other
conditions make this the safer way to ride.
- DON'T LIKE ANY OF THESE RULES, GO RIDE
SOMEPLACE ELSE.
If you have questions
about the club, email the
Head Doo
If you would like regular DDRC Weekly Email
Updates -

to be put on the list.
